Various welfare legislations in favour of employee would be discussed by our student simultaneously with the faculty due to experience under labour law-I in earlier semester would expose the student to law on wages, bonus, epf, esi, gratuity, factories, maternity benefit etc. for appropriate knowledge for future utilisation both in profession or career.
The course outcome of IOS is to make students learn skilful drafting of laws, which will help them to practice healthy advocacy and help them to become good appellate Advocates and helping judicial officers to give quality judgment. The studentwould be able to identify the methods of interpretation according to the nature/type of legislation as to beneficial laws, penal laws, taxing laws etc. The students will come to know about the various components of a statute and their use in the interpretation of statues. The Students will come to know about the art of interpretation in their career as advocate, draftsman or a Judicial Officer.
Emergence of this branch in the light of globalisation would be appreciated by our student so as to equip him for moulding himself as a lawyer in private international law. Law of marriage and its related issues, contracts between nationals of two states etc. and also across the nations would be explored by our student for best appreciation and implementation.
About 60% of the Indian population mainly depend on agriculture and land is precious to the agriculturists for sustaining their livelihood. Each state has the power to make special laws or rules with respect to the land under its jurisdiction with respect to transfer of agricultural property, which includes registration or prohibiting persons from alienation etc. The object is to focus on land reforms besides land acquisition procedures enunciated in the Act of 1894, including 2013 legislation as to resettlement and re-habilitation and the constitutional perspective relating to this subject would be taught as an essential part of this course. Students will be able to connect the core concept relating to theories of properties and its Constitutional perspectives and also able to understand the kinds and classification of land tenures and its settlement of land. The students will be able to appraise law relating to land reforms, powers and functions of Tahsildars, Tribunals under APLR Act 1973, the students will be able to show a better understanding of charitable endowment, land grabbing, powers & procedures of special courts under APLGP Act 2011. Sufficient inputs for an officer or advocacy would be received by our student through this subject.
Affiliation of a person with its birth place is recognised in law as Citizenship. This concept ishaving its nexus with State’s political set-up. Citizenship has its own ramifications especially in the case of violations of norms of respective state. Global crimes like piracy, terrorism etc. require expertise in this branch for rendering justice either as an ambassador or otherwise. Our student is trained for the respective purpose.
